It's Perfectly Normal

Harris, R.  (2009). It’s perfectly normal. Boston, MA: Candlewick Press.

This book entails explanations of how young adolescent teenagers deal with aspects of mental and physical changes. An easygoing bird and a worried bee approach subjects in a comfortable and child friendly way. Some of the subjects they talk about are sexual orientation, sexual reproduction, pregnancy, birth control, sexually transmitted diseases and sexual abuse. It also explains how getting to know more of what sexuality is in the human life can have positive effects.

This book can be a great teaching tool for young adolescents. Physical development is a tough subject for them, and parents are sometimes afraid of talking about it. This book can unquestionably make it easier and can serve as a manual for adolescent’s mental and physical development.
