Teckentrup, B. (2013). Big Smelly Bear. London: Boxer Books Limited.
Summary: Big Smelly
Bear refuses to take a bath. He had no
friends and the only creatures that get close to him are flies. One day, he
woke up and had a terrible itch on his back and he simply couldn’t scratch
himself. Another bear saw that he was having trouble and encourage him to take
a bath so that she could help him. Of course, the Big Smelly Bear denied taking
a bath, but after an argument with the other bear he decided he would do it.
When he came out, he smelled clean and the other bear happily scratched his
back.
Review: The
eye-catching illustrations are amazing. It is an excellent book to read to
pre-kinder and kinder students to teach about bears, hygiene, and friendship. Cute
little story that will definitely make children smile.
