Giovanni, N. (2005).
Rosa. NY: Holt.
Summary: Rosa Parks is a strong woman that we’ve all
heard about. This book takes you more into detail about her life as a talented
seamstress, wife, and member of the Women’s Political Council. She becomes
tired of working and being treated unequal. A historic bus ride she took
changed many lives forever.
Review: It is a book written for third, fourth, and
fifth graders. It is a great way to introduce the civil rights movement or
important woman in history. Beautiful illustrations that make the reader
connect with the story. I highly recommend it!
