Rylant, C., & Howard, A. (2014). Mr. Putter & Tabby turn the page. NY, NY: Houghton Mifflin
Harcourt.
Summary: Mr. Putter
and his cat, Tabby, love quiet time. They also love to read. One day they see a
story time sign at the library and decide to sign up. He is extremely excited
to bring his cat and read to children. He tells his neighbor about it, and now
she is interested too. There is only one problem; her pet Zeke is not as quiet
as Tabby.
Review: It is a book
that is part of a series. Children love these books because they can continue
reading about the same characters. They are also chapter books that can be
perfect for second graders to read just for fun.
