Hale, S. (2008).
Rapunzel’s revenge. NY: Bloomsbury.
Summary: Rapunzel is a girl
that was taken away from her parents by Mother Gothel and lived in a tower in
the middle of the forest. She was often bored of being stuck in between
uninteresting walls. One day, she escapes and begins her adventure. She discovers that her biological mother is a
slave. Along the way, she also meets a man named Jack, which she learns to
trust. They work together to save her mother and have revenge against Mother
Gothel.
Review: Rapunzel’s Revenge is a great graphic novel
that middle school students will love to read. It has a wide turn on the usual
princess story we have heard as children. The illustrations are fun, lively,
and basically engage readers.
