Summary: Rose and Ben both lose their mothers in very
different time periods. In 1927, Rose aches for her mother that can’t be there
for her, and in 1977, Ben aches because his mother died and doesn’t know
anything about his father. In their own time periods, they both decide to run
away and look for their loved ones. Through their adventures, they come to find
out something that will take everyone by surprise.
Review: This
story is told from two perspectives. One from a girl named Rose who lives in
the 1920’s and a boy named Ben who lives in the 1970s. Rose's story is told
through pictures and Ben's through words. The combination of the words and
pictures work perfectly and are very easy to understand. Illustrations are
beautiful and the delicateness is observed.
