Bragg, G. (2011). How
they croaked: The awful ends of the awfully famous. NY: Walker
Summary: How They Croaked is a young adult book that
looks into the history of how nineteen famous people died. It shows how
scientists, writers, and even presidents lost their lives in such an awful way.
It is amazing to see that things that could have easily been prevented made
some people lose their lives. For example, Christopher Columbus died from an
infection that could’ve been cured with antibiotics. At the end of each person’s
story, it also gives you facts that are very interesting and informative.
Review: It is an exceptional novel that will show
young students how famous people died. Students will definitely have fun
reading this book that was written in a very engaging way.
