Summary: Melody is a young, smart girl that was
diagnosed with cerebral palsy right after birth. She cannot talk, walk, or move
her body. Most of the time she is ignored and bullied by others in her school.
One day she is given a computer that changes her life. She realizes that she
can be like everyone else and decides to try out for the trivia team. She
amazingly scores the highest and leads her team to the championship. Everything
seems to be going well, however, she still encounters several difficulties.
Review: This is
an excellent novel with a powerful message about acceptance. This book is
emotional, dramatic and intriguing. It is well written and definitely an
important book for kids to read. It will show them that children with
disabilities are no different than normal people.
