Milgrim, D. (2017). Go, Otto, go! New York: Simon Spotlight.
Summary: Otto, the main character of the story is a robot that comes
to earth and meets lots of new friends. However, after missing his family so
much, he decides to build a rocket to go back home. He says goodbye to everyone
and departs. Not everything went well for Otto because all of a sudden his
rocket gets out of control and crashes back into planet earth. That’s when Otto
realized that earth was his home and his friends his new family.
Review: This is a very simple story perfect for children that are
beginning to learn to read. It has a variety of sight words that will motivate
young students to keep on reading. I’m sure kindergarten students will love the
illustrations especially Otto, the robot.
