Olivia and the Rain Dance. (2012). Turtleback Books.
Summary: Olivia, Ian, and Francine want to have a boat race in the
pond; however, the pond is all dried up. Then, they try doing a rain dance to
bring the rain, yet that doesn't work. Their next idea is to try to fill up the
pond with the hose, but unfortunately, the hose doesn’t reach. Luckily, Olivia
comes up with a very creative way to still have the boat race.
Review: This is a very good book to read during story time to kinder
students. They will definitely enjoy the characters and their fun way of
thinking. Teachers can also use this book to teach students that things don’t
always come out the way they are planned, but it’s okay to simply change them a
little.
